Sonderen Packaging is the recipient of an
AWB 2012 Better Workplace Award for Job Training and Advancement

Who We Are
Sonderen Packaging is in the business of manufacturing high quality, custom folding cartons for many outstanding and highly successful companies. A folding carton is quite simply a box. This type of box is called a folding carton because it can be folded to lay flat. This feature allows more products to be shipped at one time with no wasted space. The folding cartons we manufacture are created out of paperboard material. Paperboard is light weight but strong, printable and recyclable making it the perfect packaging medium.

Founded in 1963 by Al and Mary Sonderen, the company has been successful as a family owned business for over 45 years. This tradition will continue as a third generation prepares to lead the company into the future. Since opening in 1963, Sonderen has grown from 8 employees working in a 2,000 square foot basement shop, to 100+ employees and a 130,000 square foot state-of-the-art facility. Sonderen's success can be attributed to the company's reputation for high quality manufacturing, customer service second to none and for building lasting relationships with customers, employees and suppliers.

Brief History: These relationships proved invaluable during a few major challenges faced by the company. In 1998, a massive fire nearly destroyed the entire Sonderen operation. With the help of a dedicated workforce, loyal customers, trusting suppliers and a few friendly competitors, we were able to quickly rebuild the plant. Remarkably enough, we were also able to retain 100% of our customers and avoid laying off a single employee! In 2004, Sonderen acquired another folding carton company and to the credit of our employees and their exceptional efforts, we were able to retain 95% of that companies existing customers. In November of 2008 Sonderen expanded our operations with the addition of a 40,000 square foot warehouse on our existing property primarily to be used for finished goods and raw material.

Customer Service: Sonderen has assembled a team of professionals that recognize the importance of understanding our customers packaging needs. We work hard at building a professional relationship as well as a personal connection with all of our customers in which they can trust that we will produce a job that meets or exceeds their quality standards.
