Requirements:
Shift: TBD – One of three shifts (Sun-Thurs 10pm-6am/Mon-Fri 6am-2pm or 2pm-10pm)
Responsible for the set-up and cutting process of the machine- as quickly as possible while maintaining the quality of the product.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
1 Follow make-ready procedures on every job. Work with pre-make-ready person on jobs to double team make-readies whenever possible.
2 Manage all records pertaining the each job run including chase, gripper margin, tonnage, cut count, run speed, and special instructions.
3 Read schedule to determine run order of jobs, ensuring supplies are in house or have been ordered. Read job bags to determine customer requirements. Load material into feeder, make-ready on die cutting, unload cut sheets or cartons.
4 Maintain quality of cut/crease and proper registration throughout run, making necessary adjustments as needed.
5 Work closely with managers and lead persons, advising them of any problems that may arise. Ensure all jobs ready to run are approved by supervisor/lead man before running. Perform all other duties as required by management.
6 Keep work area neat, clean, and free of hazards.
7 Train operators on machine usage. Ability to follow verbal and written instructions and communicate effectively with all operators through shift transitions. Responsible for clean and organized shift.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities/Education:
Broad training in a related professional field usually acquired through HS diploma or Equivalent education or an equivalent combination knowledge, skills, education or work-related experience.
Job related experience for six (6 months) cutting experience with hands-on mechanical skills minimum.
Ability to follow verbal and written instructions and communicate effectively with all operators through shift transitions.
Working knowledge of the following areas:
Learn to trouble shoot problems and do preventive maintenance as needed.
Recycles all paper and cardboard by placing them in their proper containers.
Ability to work as a team player.
