Feeder, Gluing (Days)

Requirements:

Shift: Mon-Fri (6am-2pm)

This position is responsible for ensuring that the glue machine is kept running consistently to ensure quality issues are minimized. This position is responsible for training with the machine operator to learn how to set up and run all of the glue machines.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
1 Operate glue systems, bar code scanner, straight tuck, make ready, auto-bottom on all machines with manager or senior operator. See SBP progression training.
2 Stage jobs to be run, ensure item numbers, job numbers and specification number are correct with order numbers. Check for sort tags or defects on loads from print or cutting department.
3 The operator assistant is always on the machine to assist Glue Operator as needed. Ensure understanding of direction from the glue operator.
4 Set-up feed, registers, rails, trombone section on all machines and set-up and run the auto packer.
5 Strip down loads ahead of time, be ready to run once the machines is set-up.
6 Inform crew of sample area to assist with proper color match. Schedule maintenance time with operator and supervisor.
7 Cleaning and maintain glue pots

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities/Education:
Broad training in a related professional field usually acquired through HS diploma or Equivalent education or an equivalent combination knowledge, skills, education or work-related experience.
Job related experience for none required minimum.
Six months experience feeding the glue machine preferred. Experience working in a manufacturing environment preferred.
