Requirements:
Shift: Mon-Fri – 8hr shift
Primary Purpose of Position:
Supports all departments, machine centers and logistics throughout the plane in order to improve production and reduce downtime.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
1 Look forward 48 hours in the production schedule to ensure that all materials are available and present for the production run. Communicate with department managers, scheduler and purchaser if materials are not available and determine the correct action.
2 Ensure that all machines have the necessary components required to perform their required function (WIP product, corrugated/master cases, shipping pallets)
3 Control the placement and movement of all WIP loads throughout the plant to ensure the most efficient flow through all processes.
4 Keep all areas of the plant clean and organized
5 Work as part of a team and be able to follow verbal and written instructions.
6 While the regular working cycle of this production is usually four (10) hour days on Monday-Thursday, or a scheduled weekend shift Friday-Sunday three (12) hour days, and administrative position working five (8) hour days Monday-Friday; working hours may vary as specified by management. Incumbent must be able to work overtime on a regular basis and/or be on call as directed by management.
7 Regular and predictable attendance is required between the assigned start and end times of work.
8 Assures and maintains safe and healthful working conditions while enforcing safety rules and regulations.
9 It is the essential function of the job that the individual will not be a direct threat to the health or safety of themselves, others, or property. Direct threat is defined as a significant risk of substantial harm that cannot be eliminated or reduced to an acceptable level by reasonable accommodation.
10 Performs such individual assignments as management may direct.
11 Ability to meet the knowledge, skills, abilities, physical requirements and working conditions set forth in this position description and on the attached Physical Demands Assessment.
12 Must follow company policies, procedures, practices, and standards of conduct as outlined in the company policies and procedures.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities/Education:
Broad training in a related professional field usually acquired through education or equivalent combination knowledge, skills, education or work-related experience.
Ability to safely operate electric and manual pallet jacks.
Ability to safely operate stand-up and sit-down forklift in confined areas
Ability to lift 80 lbs regularly in a ten (10) hour shift
Ability to be on your feet for up to ten (10) hours at a time
Working knowledge of the following areas:
Learn to trouble shoot problems and do preventative maintenance as needed.
Recycles all paper and cardboard by placing them in their proper containers.
