Description:

The Pressroom assistant supports the press room for maximum efficiency. This person must be well organized and ready to help where needed. The primary purpose of the press assistant is to ensure that all materials that are required to successfully produce printed jobs are ready and available. They also may be asked fill in where necessary to keep the printing presses running and quickly change from one job to another. Ideally, we would like this person to have some experience with flexo printing in a manufacturing environment, however there will be plenty of on-the-job training.

This custom manufacturing business is also very humbling in that you learn something new every single day. Manufacturing is exciting and can be unpredictable. We all do the best we can but at the end of the day we must give ourselves some grace. Although we strive for perfection, we are not perfect people and do not make a perfect product. Requirements:

On a day-to-day basis, the pressroom assistant will inspect all prepared job materials, fill in gaps for any and all items required, along with any additional needs such as; press chemistry, staging sheeted loads to each appropriate press, assist in make readies and wash ups to aid in a rapid start time. Cross training is a must.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities/Education:

Broad training in a related professional field usually acquired through HS diploma or Equivalent education or an equivalent combination knowledge, skills, education or work-related experience.

Job related experience for one (one year) experience in printing minimum.

Multi Color Offset, Sheet feed Experience, Team Oriented, Detail and Quality Oriented

Working knowledge of the following areas:

Ability to read and understand written and verbal communication.

Ability to communicate timely with co-workers and supervisor.

Learn to trouble shoot problems and do preventive maintenance as needed.
