Earn While You Learn! We will teach you everything you need to know about operating a sheeting machine. A sheeter ensures that rolls of paperboard are cut to the correct length and that the sheet is flat and dust free.

The Sheeter Operator is an integral part of ensuring that the jobs will be successful at the onset of the manufacturing process. Because there is only one operator per paper sheeting machine, the Sheeter Operator must be self-motivated to meet production goals and determined to output a quality product. This position is a part of the printing department, and oftentimes the Sheeter Operator is cross-trained to feed printing presses. The Sheeter Operator will receive top-notch on-the-job training. A mechanical aptitude, a strong work ethic, and the ability to pay attention to details are the main characteristics we look for in a Sheeter Operator.

Sheeters must: Follow quality checks and provide a great product to the next department. Follow and sign off make ready checklist for each job and add to job ticket sleeve. Review production run quality checklist for each sheeted load, and initial the checklist. Read, understand and verify that instructions on job ticket are accurate. Ensure load tags include job #, customer, sheet size, caliper, load # and operator initials).

Keep the machine and equipment running in a safe and efficient manner. Ensure efficiencies, run speeds, and down time are within specified limits. Assist with troubleshooting and adjusting problems during runs.

Keep work area neat, clean, and free of hazards. Maintain chemicals and rags on sheeter.

Prep, stage and maintain rolls for jobs.

Ability to read and understand the job ticket and sheeting schedule.

Operators are responsible for contacting a supervisor when quality standards cannot be met.

Set up and run jobs in the most effective and efficient manner as possible. Assist where needed in printing/sheeting department. Understand how to run all sheeting machines including make ready, Dadex and quick change functions on Maxon.

Train operators on machine usage. Ability to follow verbal and written instructions and communicate effectively with all operators through shift transitions.

Perform P/M on unit, change belts, blades and trouble shoot problems.

Broad training in a related professional field usually acquired through HS diploma or Equivalent education or an equivalent combination knowledge, skills, education or work related experience.

Ability to follow verbal and written instructions and communicate effectively with all operators through shift transitions.

Learn to trouble shoot problems and do preventive maintenance as needed.

Recycles all paper and cardboard by placing them in their proper containers.4
