We are in search of an experienced Shipping and Receiving Clerk who is an independently motivated person with leadership and project management skills. This position has several job functions and responsibilities. The primary function is to utilize their stellar forklift skills to transport, load, or store finished product and giant rolls of paperboard throughout the facility. The shipping and receiving team has extensive knowledge and are fantastic trainers and mentors. While forklift experience is required, on-the-job learning will happen every day. We have three different types of lift trucks that the Shipping and Receiving Clerk will master. This person is also trained in our ERP system to track inventory via barcodes and complete shipping paperwork. Communication with all departments is critical and dependent on the various job functions that may need to be executed. Safety is a priority, and we expect all forklift drivers to pay close attention to their surroundings and the task at hand. Requirements:
Broad training in a related professional field usually acquired through HS diploma or Equivalent education or
equivalent combination knowledge, skills, education or work related experience.
Job related experience for six (6) months minimum.
Must be able to comply with direction, both written and verbal. Lifting up to 50lbs, and standing for long periods(up to 10hrs) may be required.
Moving, picking, stamping, scanning and palletizing items is required, good PC
skills Microsoft Office.
SKILLS APPLIED:
Good oral and written English communication skills.
Interpersonal and human relation skills.
Excellent forklift operational and safety skills
Skill in operating various hand tools, material handling equipment, skids, pallet handlers and hand trucks.
Strong math skills.
Ability to multitask
Working knowledge of the following areas:
Thorough hands-on knowledge and understanding of forklifts and attachment lift trucks and their controls.
Knowledge of proper handling techniques and operation procedures.
Knowledge of the company’s product process flow and parts.
Knowledge of safety policies and procedures.
Thorough understanding of computer data entry.
