Shift Sun-Thurs (10pm-6am) $17/hr + $1.50/hr shift differential
Operate Window machine within the established guidelines, efficiencies and run speeds while producing a quality product. This individual will demonstrate leadership in organizing and working with the Window Machine team.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
1 Read, understand and verify instructions on job ticket are accurate.
2 Keep the machine and equipment running in a safe and efficient manner. Ensure efficiencies, run speeds, and down time are within specified limits. Assist with troubleshooting and adjusting problems during runs. sets up, operates and maintains a machine that spreads glue on paperboard boxes and affixes clear mylar windows to the flat boxes. Loads feeding mechanism with cut flat paper board boxes, starts machine, and observes spacing and feeding of sheets to ensure that finished attachments of mylar to die cut windows in boxes meets specifications.
3 Moves guides, suction mechanisms, cams, gears, and glue pins to regulate machine according to size of window and number of sheets glued, and number of places glue is deposited. Use Demolition Hammer to remove scrap paper from the edge of the cartons.
4 Operators are responsible for contacting a supervisor when quality standards cannot be met.
5 Set up and run jobs in the most effective and efficient manner as possible. Set up timing-lugs and chains, set up mylar and glue pads, set up conveyer for cartons. Understand how to operate the window machine. Accurately complete all paperwork at the end of each run.
6 Train operators on machine usage. Ability to follow verbal and written instructions and communicate effectively with all operators through shift transitions. Keep work area neat, clean, and free of hazards.
7 When the Window Machine is not running, assist the Finishing Department as needed.
